Pretty much everybody knows the toll that smoking cigarettes takes on our bodies, but did you know it comes with a pretty hefty environmental impact as well? Cigarette butts are toxic waste that pollute our streets and waterways, actively leaking chemicals into our environment. Turns out Big Tobacco is well aware of the impact - but does nothing to curb the 4.5 trillion cigarette butts that litter our world. For these spots, I was able to utilize my experience as an animator to incorporate stop motion and time lapse to help visually convey the amount of time it takes for cigarettes to decompose - nearly 10 years!
