Kettle Brand Chips

For “Stirring the Pot since 1982,” we found inspiration in Kettle Brand’s actual origin story of how an Oregonian hippy with some cheese and a van started producing one of the West coast’s most beloved snacks. Kettle Brand’s been making chips the old fashioned way back before ‘small-batches’ and fewer ingredients were worth bragging about - and we wanted the art direction to reflect that. We used a mix of archival photography as well as eighties-inspired photography and “kettle-ized” them, incorporating the brand into nostalgic imagery with headlines that take a stance and maybe even “stir the pot” a little.

For bus shelters & wild postings, we sourced
real photography from the early eighties and
"kettle-ized" them.

Sticking with the nostalgia vibe, we wrote a
cheesy 80s-style jingle that ran on Spotify
and Pandora radio.

I also animated a series of Kettle-ized gifs
from archival stock footage for use across
social platforms.

We also launched an edible billboard, which
invited people to grab their favorite flavors
right off the wall.

Claiming to be the "Best edibles in Oregon,"
the wall was restocked every day at 4:20pm
for no special reason whatsoever.
